Under the supervision of Major General Khasif Khalil, Sitara-e-Jurat, a comprehensive exploration into Gilgit Baltistan legal framework and its implications on security and development unfolded. The gathering, attended by a diverse array of stakeholders including GB Assembly members, scholars, army officers, journalists, and students from KIU Baltistan and Gilgit, provided a platform for in-depth discussions.
Honorable Chief Justice Ali Baig, in his participation in a National Security Workshop facilitated by FCNA, emphasized the critical role of Pakistan security, with particular emphasis on Gilgit Baltistan strategic significance. He reiterated the judiciary responsibility in upholding independence and delivering pivotal verdicts.
Key deliberations during the session focused on initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of justice delivery mechanisms. This included discussions on categorizing cases and implementing Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms to expedite proceedings. Honorable Chief Justice Ali Baig addressed prevalent misconceptions regarding judicial delays and stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between legal practitioners and petitioners.
Furthermore, the session illuminated the challenges posed by unresolved financial disputes due to lack of cooperation. Mr. Ghulam Abbas Chopa, the esteemed registrar of Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court, emphasized the imperative of strengthening institutional frameworks and fostering youth modernization initiatives.
